Parents’ Consultation Days

Years 11 and 13 Friday, April 1st & Year 9 Tuesday, April 19th

Dear Parents  

 

As per the school calendar and our letter of March 18th, we will host Parents’ Consultation Days consisting of 5 minute video appointments with subject teachers for: -  

Years 11 and 13 students on Friday, April 1st 

Year 9 Tuesday, April 19th. 

We are very much looking forward to ‘seeing’ all our students with their parents for these first Parents’ Consultation Days, which will run remotely via the School Cloud system.  

 

Very importantly also, parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with their Academy Guidance Manager to discuss their daughter or son’s daily school life: 

Eden – Mr Dinsdale                                     Medway – Mrs Baker 

Rother – Ms Timmins                                  Stour – Mrs Woods                Sixth Form – Mr Crane 

 

In addition, for relevant parents there will be the opportunity to meet with our SENCO, Mr Simpson and Assistant SENCO, Mrs Negus as well our Learning Support Assistant colleagues, who support students in classrooms or the Michael Palin Centre.  

 

The appointments will give students and parents the opportunity to take stock of learning in school since September, as well as to discuss next steps to secure the best possible progress in the weeks leading up to Public Examinations for Years 11 & 13 and up to the end of this school year for Year 9. All teachers will report to you on your daughter or son’s completion and submission of Homework tasks, which we view as vital to students’ learning and progress. 

 

Bookings will open tomorrow, Tuesday at midday and remain open until Wednesday, March 30th at 3pm. Parents of Year 9 particularly, please note that there will be no facility to complete or inquire about bookings during the Easter holiday, so please do book early. 

 

Friday, April 1st & Tuesday, April 19th will run with work set in Google Classroom for all students. Students should stick to their normal timetable (as far as appointments allow) and work on those tasks through the day and then submit all work at the end of the day. Teachers will also set Homework Assignments in Google Classroom as per the Homework Timetable. No live online lessons will take place with teachers. No student should attend school on Friday, April 1st or Tuesday, April 19th.
