Sports’ Day Postponement

Good afternoon

The Met Office is now forecasting temperatures well in excess of 30 degrees for Friday. When I wrote to you on Sunday, the Friday temperature was forecast to peak at 29 degrees, and I had hoped we could go ahead.

This has now changed to 33 degrees.

This temperature is beyond what is reasonable for a school Sports’ Day – and as lovely as the summer sunshine is, our beautiful field offers little shade.

We will postpone Sports’ Day until Thursday, July 16th. We then finish the academic year on Friday, July 17th with our annual ‘Tag Trek’ for charity.

The students are doing really well, and we are just going about our business with minimal fuss.

Students should continue to bring plenty of water with them and may wear a sun hat. Sun cream is a good idea too.
