Letter to Parents 22nd May 2026

May 22nd 2026

Dear Parents and students

We are delighted to be sending letters of commendation to the parents of 942 students today for the submission of personal best class and homework assignments during this half-term. Of the 942 students, 391 have been nominated by 3 or more of their teachers and their parents will also receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold Certificate of Commendation.

In addition, we sent 3239 electronic merit point messages between Monday and this morning to parents of students, where teachers have recognised they are completing their personal best home or classwork.

This week, our student Sport Leaders have hosted a Rapid Fire Cricket tournament for younger children at Saltwood Primary School. Our student subject ambassadors visited Aldington Primary School   as part of our Outreach Programme and ran small group teaching sessions in English, Photography and Animal Care. I am so proud of the students for their kindness and their development as active citizens in our society. Separately, 12 Year 9 students have received coaching in Bowling at Hythe Bowling Club and are looking forward to attending again after half-term.

Elsewhere, Drama students have participated in the Royal Shakespeare Drama Workshop focussing on acoustics and space preparing for a performance of King Lear at the Marlowe Theatre later in June.

Students continue to impress this week with many in school for early morning final revision sessions running from 7am before sitting Public Examinations.

Teachers have continued to set homework tasks this week for all Year Groups and have provided revision resources and tasks on Google classroom for students in Years 11 & 13 sitting Public Examinations.

After the half-term break, we will continue to vary our timetable daily, in order to ensure we provide students in Years 11 with the best possible support in advance of their next examinations by having the ‘right’ teacher for the ‘right’ subject in class with them. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of students maintaining the highest high levels of attendance to all their lessons after Public Examinations commence.

Today, students have considered World Culture Day in Academy Tutor Groups. Please check your child has chosen a book from our latest digital library. We really want all our students to keep up their 20 minutes a day reading habit over the holiday. Digital Library

We look forward to welcoming students back on site at Brockhill on Monday, June 1st.

We will be writing separately to parents of Year 11 and 13 next week.

Have a lovely half-term.

Yours sincerely,
