Letter to Parents and Students 15th May 2026

15th May 2026

Dear Parents

Thank you for all your support over this past week.

We have undertaken a number of activities in Daily Tutor time with students this week both celebrating student attendance to school and undertaking questionnaires to seek students’ views about their experience of school. Student Voice is always important to us.

It has been absolutely wonderful for the Academy Directors to meet so many Year 8 parents for conversations about Learning Pathways.

Students have been busy outside school this week as well. On Monday Year 7 students held a live link up with their French pen pals, and on Tuesday our Year 10 Sports Leaders visited St Augustine’s Primary School to host a Rapid Fire Cricket tournament.  Elsewhere, Year 8 students have again received coaching in Golf and Bowls at the Hythe Imperial and Hythe Bowling Club. Yesterday and today, 30 students from across the school have been undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh final expedition.

The students have excelled this week earning 3700 Excellent Points and Public Examinations are now fully underway. Students impress with their commitment and hard work, with many attending last minute revision sessions from 7am.

We are now varying our timetable daily to ensure we provide students in Years 11 & 13 with the best possible last minute support before their next examinations. It is so important students maintain the highest levels of attendance to all their lessons during Public Examinations, so they get the best teacher support. We will remain mindful and watchful of student welfare and well-being in these crucial weeks. We are here to help.

We are currently seeking nominations from teachers for awards to recognise students, who have consistently submitted personal best class and homework assignments during this half-term. As ever, consistent does not mean perfect. Some students will doubtless receive Excellent Effort Points and Homework reminder texts during the same week.

Finally, please ask your child to choose a book from our latest digital library. Reading for 20 minutes a day impacts on student attainment across all their subjects.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours sincerely,
