Letter to Parents 8th May 2026

May 8th 2026

Dear Parents

Thank you for all your support and the kindness you have shown this week.

By 1.30pm today, students had earned 2757Excellent Effort Points for submission of personal best home- or classwork assignments.

We have also sent a number of Homework reminder texts today, so some students will doubtless receive both Excellent Effort Points and Homework text reminders. Where you do receive Homework text reminders for your child, please take a moment with them to go through what Homework is set for them by checking what they have written down in their planner and what shows in Google classroom. Where students regularly receive Homework reminder texts, they will simply progress more slowly than their peers.

Separately, last week we sent 223 commendation letters to parents where their child was nominated by teachers for the submission of personal best assignments during the recent remote learning day before the Easter Holiday.

This week students have received coaching in Bowling and Golf at Hythe Bowling Club and the Hythe Imperial, whilst our sport leaders coached Cheriton Primary School students in rapid fire cricket on Wednesday and helped to run a primary school Golf event on Thursday. Elsewhere, Mrs Ashlee led our Young Farmers to the Living Land Event hosted by the Kent County Agricultural Society at the County Fairground, and Environmental Science A level and Animal Care students attended the Countryside Careers event.

Congratulations, to the large number of Years 11 & 13 students attending early morning or after school revision sessions for their Public Examinations, which are now getting underway.

Year 11 Weekly Revision Tips – Tuesday, May 5th              Year 13 Weekly Revision Tips – Tuesday, May 5th

When we commence Public Examinations, we will vary our timetable, in order to ensure we provide students in Years 11 & 13 with the best possible support in advance of their next examinations by having the ‘right’ teacher for the ‘right’ subject in class with them, so we can give the best possible final pre -examination advice in any given subject. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of students maintaining the highest high levels of attendance to all their lessons during Public Examinations, so they draw maximum benefit from teacher support.

We will remain mindful and watchful of student welfare and well-being in these crucial weeks. But if you have any concerns about your child or their understanding of what they need to revise to do their personal Best, please let us know. We are here to help.

A small number of our students will benefit from a fidget toy when in class. However, when students bring ‘squishy’ fidgets into school they split, which causes a disruption to learning and difficulties in cleaning the resulting mess. Fidget toys need to be small, silent and not distracting of others.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph
