Dear Parents
Thank you for your continued support of the school and your daughter or son.
As per our school calendar, we will host a Parents’ Subject Consultation Day consisting of 5 minute video appointments with subject teachers for Years 11 & 13 students on Friday, October 17th and for Years 10 & 12 on Monday, October 27th.
Parents and students will also have the opportunity to meet with their Academy Guidance Manager to discuss their daughter or son’s daily school life:
In addition, for relevant parents there will be the opportunity to meet with our SENCO, Mr Simpson, Ms Lewis, Deputy SENCO or Assistant SENCO, Mrs Negus and Mr Norton, Well-Being Coordinator, as well our Learning Support Assistant colleagues, who support students in classrooms or the Michael Palin Centre.
The appointments will give students and parents the opportunity to take stock of learning in school since September and to discuss next steps to secure the best possible performance in Public Examinations. Teachers will give revision tips and show you revision materials, which will be posted in Google Classroom for the Easter holiday.
In Years 11 & 13, every student should now have designed their own revision programme. If your daughter or son has not, please ensure they do. And if they are finding difficulty with planning their revision, please let us know, so we can support with this.
We are very much looking forward to ‘seeing’ all our students with their parents on these days. The Parents’ Consultation Days will run remotely with the School Cloud system.
The appointments will give students and parents the opportunity to take stock of learning in school since September and to discuss next steps to secure the best possible performance in the months up to the end of this school year.
Bookings will open tomorrow, Wednesday at midday and remain open until Wednesday, October 15th at 3pm. It will not be possible to book appointments thereafter.
Friday, October 17th and Monday, October 27th will run with work set in Google Classroom for all students. Students should stick to their normal timetable and work on those tasks through the day and submit all assignments at the end of the day.
Teachers will also set Homework Assignments as per the Homework Timetable. No online live lessons will take place with teachers.
No student should attend the school site on either Friday, October 17th or Monday, October 27th.
