Letter to Parents - 3rd October 2025
October 3rd 2025
Dear Parents
Thank you for all your support of your children and of us this week.
Again, students have had a very busy week earning 4557 merit Excellent Effort Points this week as of the end of lunchtime today. Wonderfully, 126 Year 11 students have attended after school revision sessions this week too! Well done to them!
If your child has not received recognition yet for their effort in class, please talk to them and encourage them to go ‘that extra mile.’ Teachers want to recognise and reward every student.
This week, Year 9 students attended a safeguarding roadshow in school, whilst 70 Year 10 students visited the Warner Bros. studios to support their Media GCSE work. Elsewhere, football and netball teams were in action against the Harvey and the Marsh Academy.
Most powerfully, Margaret and Barry Mizen visited and addressed Brockhill and Marsh Academy students with their message of hope, kindness and forgiveness. We were immensely grateful for their visit and moved by their address.
Please ensure you can access the SIMs Parent App, and if you have any problems doing so, please contact us at office@brockhill.kent.sch.uk
Again today, we are sending simple SMS messages to parents if a student has not submitted homework, even after a deadline extension. We hope texts sent enable a dialogue between at home about Homework and between school and parents, where helpful.
Our homework durations aide memoir to teachers, sets out expectations for homework in each subject. In Examination Year Groups though, students who do not submit homework assignments will simply perform less well in Public Examinations. Your support is vital here.
Please encourage your daughter or son to attend a Club Activity at least once a week. They can try something new and make new friends, or even just go along to a club they already know with their existing friends. Please see Lunchtime Clubs listed on our website.
As per our calendar and by way of reminder, Parent Subject Consultation Days will take place online for Years 11 & 13 on Friday, October 17th and Years 10 & 12 on Monday, October 27th. Students will carry out their learning at home on line Friday, October 17th and Monday, October 27th. They will work on and submit assignments, which will be set in Google Classroom. No student should attend school on these days. We will then look forward to welcoming students back to on site learning at Brockhill on Tuesday, October 28th.
Our friends at Folkestone & Hythe District Council have asked us to share their September Newsletter.
Have a lovely weekend.
Yours sincerely
Charles Joseph
