Letter to Parents 28th March 2024

March 28th 2024

Dear Parents and students

Thank you for all your support of your daughters and sons this half-term.

We had sent 1448 Excellent Effort Points to parents of students by Wednesday evening, where teachers have recognised students are completing their personal best home or classwork.

We are delighted to be sending letters of commendation to the parents of 1095 students today for the submission of personal best class and homework assignments. Of the 1095 students, 692 have been nominated by 3 or more of their teachers and their parents will also receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold Certificate of Commendation.

Please ask them to submit all their Remote Learning assignments today. We will recognise their efforts today early on next term.

Today, our History teacher Mr Zintel-Warner, a former student of the school, leaves us to embark on a round the world bicycle journey over 2 years in support of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. We will follow Mr Zintel-Warner’s progress with interest, and he will stay in regular contact with us enabling our students to have a wider ‘window on the world’ through video updates of the journey, which we will use in assemblies.

The last week has seen 54 Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award students camp out for the weekend at Brockhill and 160 attended our Easter service at our beautiful local church in Saltwood.  Elsewhere, Year 7 students participated in a gladiator tournament of non-competitive sports at Three Hills in Folkestone.

Teachers have continued to set homework tasks this week for all Year Groups and have provided revision resources and tasks on Google classroom for students in Years 11 & 13 sitting Public Examinations in the summer.

Here are this week’s             Year 11 Revision Tips                                    Year 13 Revision Tips

Please ensure your child continues to read for 20 minutes daily over the Easter Holiday Digital Library – Spring Term 2023 - 24

We will look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, April 15th for the first week of the summer term.

Have a peaceful Easter.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Principal
