Letter to Parents 27th May

 May 27th 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians

Thank you for all your support of us and your daughter or son.

Tomorrow, we will be celebrating the end of this half-term by sending out six hundred and eighteen commendations to parents of students, who have been nominated by two or more teachers. Letters, sent to parents, will state how many teachers nominated their daughter or son.

There are also a further two hundred and thirty nine students, who have been nominated by one of their teachers and we would like to ask these and all students to target increasing the number of staff they receive nominations from by concentrating on always submitting their personal best quality class- and homework assignments from after half-term.

You may be aware that the Fire Alarm was set off 15 minutes before the end of the school day yesterday.  We are taking steps to identify the perpetrators and will of course inform the Police when we do, in addition to ensuring that these selfish people do not return to our school community and that any future employer or college provider is also made aware of their actions.

After half-term we will be undertaking work in Science lessons and Daily Tutor Time about the roles of basic hygiene measures, social distancing, face coverings and vaccination in preventing disease transmission and mitigating its effects. We continue to strongly recommend the wearing of a face covering.

Please take a moment over the half-term break to check your daughter or son has the correct equipment for school. We will also be reminding students of this, together with the importance of punctuality to and in school, uniform and the requirement to have mobile phones turned off and in bags during lessons. We will be running Late Gates after the holiday and sending students home should they arrive to school not in correct uniform.

Separately, we have been asked to provide all parents with information about the

EU Settlement Scheme.

We are immensely grateful to you that the vast majority of students now report carrying out a once weekly Lateral Flow Test at home It is our intention to continue testing students once weekly as per our regular schedule through the rest of the summer term. During the school holiday, please carry on testing twice weekly - rather than once a week.
