Letter to Parents 3rd July 2026

July 3rd 2026

Dear Parents and students

Thank you for your support over this past week. We had awarded 3263 Excellent Effort points by 8.30am this morning.

This week has been a busy one with 77 students from all Year Groups watching the Musical Annie at the Marlowe Theatre and Year 12 students going out today on their end of year Bowling Reward Trip. Our Year 8 Golfers and Year 9 Bowlers have played at the Hythe Imperial and Hythe Bowls Club.

Last Friday, we shared with Year 10 students their first set of Pre-public Examination results. We are delighted at how Year 10s are adapting to the expectations of Year 11.

We have held Induction Days for Year 6 students this week and will be welcoming the parents of current Year 5 students for Open Evening next week. Every year parents of Year 6 students comment about how welcoming older Brockhill students have been during the Year 6 Induction days.

This year has been no exception. I am proud of all our students for these individual acts of kindness to reassure and welcome the Year 6 students to life at Brockhill.

Next week, we will be talking to students about the Work Packs we are providing in each subject for students to complete over the summer holiday. These will be set out in a weekly format, so students can easily see what tasks they need to complete in a given week. Maintaining good and regular study habits over the summer holiday will support them to do well in September, and the tasks we set will still leave plenty of time for leisure and valuable family time! We will of course be recognizing students’ efforts as we start back out in September.

Friday, July 17th – the final day of term – will see us ending the school year with our Brockhill Tag Trek. We will provide you with more information next week, but just to note for the moment that school on that day will finish at midday with school transport departing then.
The day will run as a non-uniform day, and we ask students and staff to donate £1, which we will donate to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We will also share the money raised with the Rainbow Centre in Folkestone to support the charity work they do across our local area. https://www.rainbow-centre.org/

As students prepare to leave us for the summer holidays we will be providing them and you with a range of information designed to support parents in keeping their children safe over the upcoming summer holiday weeks. Today’s information is directly from the Department of Education:

Keeping Children safe during Community Activities, After School Clubs and Tuition

And to finish off, the Folkestone & Hythe District Council Community Safety Partnership Newsletter.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles Joseph
Principal
