Letter to Parents and Students 6th February 2026
February 6th 2026
Dear Parents and students
Students have worked very hard this week and earned 2924 Excellent Effort Points by midday Thursday.
Thank you, parents for all your support. This lies behind every one of the students’ achievements.
We have sent Homework texts this week for a range of subjects in Years 7 – 11 and Years 12 & 13. Please do check in which subjects your daughter or son is due to submit homework assignments next week.
Of course, it is entirely possible for a student to receive Excellent Effort Points as well as homework reminder texts in the same week!
We are now busy preparing Years 11 and 13 students for Public Examinations

Yesterday, we were privileged to host a meeting of the Kent Ambassadors here at Brockhill. Kent Ambassadors are a group of highly successful residents of Kent, who give over a large amount of their time and expertise to supporting education and charity in Kent. Their Chair, Geoff Miles OBE is a former Brockhill student and a very strong supporter of this school.
On Wednesday, 81 students from all Year Groups visited the Royal Opera House for a performance of Turandot. Our Member of Parliament, Tony Vaughan joined us at the performance to support the school’s commitment to the Arts and culture.
Also on Wednesday, a group of Year 10 students attended a presentation by undergraduate students from the University of Kent about what to expect during the first year of university. Brockhill offers up to four A Levels in Sixth Form to ensure students have access to the widest possible range of undergraduate opportunities. If your Year 11 daughter or son has not yet applied for a place in our Sixth Form, please encourage them to do so over the half-term. Our Sixth Form Induction will run for 3 days from immediately after GCSE examinations from Monday, June 22nd – Wednesday, June 24th.
And finally, we welcomed Folkestone School for Girls and The Marsh Academy to our annual ‘Youth Speaks’ event; our students, under the stewardship of Ms O’Donnell, spoke about ‘Cancel culture’ and ‘Failure is a greater teacher than success’.
Every single one of our Year 11 students has entered education or employment or training for many years and we want none of our students left behind. To that end Mr Coles has designed a Guide for you: -
Brockhill Parent Guide to Navigating your Child's Future
Mr Coles has also organised a number of events in school during next week’s National Apprenticeship Week.
