Letter to Parents 12th December 2025
December 12th 2025
Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for your support and students, for your hard work this week.
Students had earned 3122 Excellent Effort Points for the submission of personal best class- and homework assignments this week by breaktime this morning. Separately, we have sent more than 300 commendation certificates or letters to students, who worked hard online and submitted their personal best assignments on Thursday, December 4th.
The school Christmas Dinner will be served to students in the Terrace Restaurant next Wednesday at a cost of £2.90 including dessert. The Christmas Dinner will of course be available to all students.
We have a range of activities planned in the runup to Christmas but will continue working hard in the classroom and maintain our setting of Homework for all Year Groups right up until the end of term. For Year groups who are sitting Public Examinations in the summer, we will set work in the Google Classroom for submission soon after the school holiday.
Of course, we recognise the need for family time over the holiday and the amount of homework or revision activities set by teachers reflects this. Please see:

If you are concerned your daughter or son has not yet made a revision timetable, please encourage them to do so. Starting early is most effective!
On Monday, our Young Farmers hosted Carols with the Animals with just under 100 people braving the awful weather to sing carols around our Christmas tree. Participants included past members and families, who have attended every year for many years. Then, on Wednesday, we visited our beautiful Saltwood Church, where Reverend Knott welcomed us for our traditional service.
Our student volunteers have supported with the Rotary Club collection in Hythe and raised several hundred pounds, whilst our Years 7 & 8 ‘French ambassadors’ have visited Lyminge Primary School with Ms Preston to support younger learners of French. And, this morning, Mrs Ashlee and Mr Haisell have accompanied 96 students from Years 11 – 13 to the pantomime at the Leas Cliff Hall.
I am immensely grateful to the teachers and associates, who make all this happen as ‘a little extra’ to regular classroom activities.
