Dear Parents and Students
Thank you for your support, and students, for your hard work this week. Students had earned 3458 Excellent Effort Points by breaktime this morning. We are proud of them! And we know that behind each Excellent Effort Point lies parental and family support.

This week we have issued reminders to students about their Independent Learning Folders – ILFs.
Our aims are to give students greater ownership and responsibility for their homework and for this to align more fully with what they learn in class, as well as to support parents to oversee their child’s Homework assignments. By way of reminder please see our Independent Learning Folder Reminders
We are now running weekly Meet the SENDCO sessions on Mondays during the morning. If you have any questions or concerns about SEND provision and how it relates to your child, you will be able to make an appointment to meet a member of our SENDCO team. If you would like to take this opportunity, please email send@brockhill.kent.sch.uk by the end of Thursday of the previous week, so we can get back to you with a suitable time. This is a new initiative for us, so please bear with us if demand is high.
We send Weekly Revision Tips to Years 11 and 13 students and their parents each week. If your child did not receive these earlier this week, please let us know.
Year 11 Revision Tips – Monday, November 24th Year 13 Revision Tips – Monday, November 24th
It is important that students start planning a weekly revision timetable, if they have not already. Please do encourage them to do this and share their timetable with you.
Beyond the classroom, our Netball and Football teams were in action against other schools this week, whilst our Music students put on a wonderful concert last Friday evening and Dance performances are ongoing this week. My thanks to the students, staff and crucially parents for all the commitment and work, which goes into organisation of and participation in these events. Also, this week, Year 9 students attended a talk delivered by university staff about university life and ‘How to Get There’ whilst our student ambassadors visited Capel-Le-Ferne primary school. The message of thanks I received made my week:
Please extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff and student ambassadors who came to deliver workshops to our children today. All the children had a wonderful time - it was a great opportunity for them to learn from older students, and we were so impressed with the organisation of the morning, (which went seamlessly), the students themselves and the quality of the activities our children took part in. The children were talking excitedly about what they had done after the workshop! A big well done to all involved.
Our outreach work to primary schools with our students at the centre of this is a vital part of ensuring we help to develop well rounded adults ready to participate in society and mix with all ages.
Please choose a book with your daughter or son, if they are not currently reading one. Digital Library – Autumn Term – 2nd half
