Upcoming PSHE Sessions for Years 9 - 13 on the 4th December

 

 

 

Dear Parents,

 

On Thursday, December 4th the PSHE association approved company It Happens is visiting the school and delivering targeted PSHE sessions to Y9-13 for 1 lesson in the Sports Hall.

The themes covered during these sessions are listed below for each Year Group. They are aimed at giving young people the knowledge, awareness and skills to navigate online and in their daily lives.

 

Developing Digital Lives – Yr9

·         Digital lives & human relationships

·         Are you true to yourself online?

·         Influencers/deepfakes/manipulation & algorithms

·         Pornography & neurological reward systems

·         What is the script for a healthy sexual relationship?

·         Intervening & reporting if you are worried

FORMAT: Face to Face

 

SESSION: Intimate Relationships – Yr10

·         The journey of a relationship

·         Where do we get good answers from?

·         Understanding intimacy (reality v pornography)

·         Choice, Freedom & Capacity

·         Complex consent, communication & connection

·         Green Flags/Red Flags & being upstanding

FORMAT: Face to Face

 

SESSION: Keeping Your Body Safe & Sexual Health – Yr11

·         Sexual wellbeing

·         Inclusive sexual health

·         Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)

·         Barrier methods

·         HIV & Aids, PrEP & PEP

·         Accessing services and getting tested

FORMAT: Face to Face

 

SESSION: Future Relationships – Yr12&13

·         Society & sexuality

·         Authenticity & intensity

·         Victim blaming narratives

·         Sexual harms & reporting

·         Accessing support services

·         Positive & balanced relationships of the future
