Where students are nominated by 1 or 2 of their teachers, we send a commendation letter to parents. Please do encourage your daughter or son to seek as many nominations as possible from their teachers next half-term. Nominations are based on students completing and submitting their personal best class- and homework assignments.
We have also sent out 662 attendance commendation letters for students with 95%, 98% or 100% attendance. Behind all this wonderful work from our students lies a lot of love and support from parents and families. This is so vital, and we are truly grateful to you for this.
This week, our librarians held a cake sale and raised £150 for the creation of a Reading Garden. I am so proud of them and grateful to Miss Brown for her development of our library. Elsewhere, our Years 10, 11 and 12 Drama students attended a performance of Dear England at the Marlowe Theatre, netballers and footballers have been in action and Year 10 students attended Safeguarding assemblies organised by Mr Haisell.
In November, Year 11 will sit Walking Talking Mock (teachers help) and Pre-Public practice (teachers don’t help!) examinations in the Examinations in the hall as part of their preparations for Public Examinations in the summer.
Last week, we held elections for Head Girl and Head Boy. Our Head Girls and Head Boys will lead our student council with representatives from every Academy Tutor Group and oversight from Mr Zintel-Warner. I look forward to their contribution to school life and particularly their development of a Charter for Kindness in support of our school values of Care, Courtesy and Consideration through Kindness.
Please ensure your daughter or son keeps up their 20 minutes reading a day for pleasure over the holiday. Students who read daily develop their understanding and achieve so much more highly across their school subjects. Digital Library Autumn Term 1st half 2025 - 26
Students will continue to carry out their learning at home on line after half-term on Monday, October 27th. They will work on and submit assignments, which will be set in Google Classroom. We will look forward to welcoming students back to on site learning at Brockhill on Tuesday, October 28th.
Wishing all students and their families a lovely half-term.
