Letter to Parents 12th September 2025
September 12th 2025
Dear Parents
It has been a pleasure to welcome all the students back to school over these past 2 weeks and to see so many parents attending our Meet the Academic Tutor and Information Evenings. Next week, we carry on with these for the older Year Groups. Please do book in if you have not already: Parent Consultation Events – how to book appointments

I was delighted with our Public Examination results this summer and would like to thank all parents and families for their love and support of the students as well as the students themselves for all their hard work.
We will write frequently during the academic year about the importance of 98%+ attendance to school and how high attendance is such a driver of Public Examination outcomes. Our own initial analysis of the summer GCSE results for last year’s Year 11 students shows just that.

The difference in outcomes for a student with 95% attendance and 90% attendance is stunning.
We were successful in our bid to the Department for Education for funding to carry out roofing and other works to and around our Frank Lloyd Wright building. The work started in July, and contractors worked very quickly to be able to return the building to full use for the beginning of term. Work will now continue over the coming weeks at a more moderate pace, so we can now carry on normally and safely.
We are making a number of changes to our systems for this academic year. Please see Updates to the School Sanction Procedure from September
Through the academic year, we will talk with students about staying safe online. The link here may be useful. What Parents and Carers Need To Know about Telegram
