Letter to Parents and Students 20th June 2025

20th June 2025

Dear Parents

Students in Years 10 and 12 have sat Walking Talking Mock (teachers help) and then Pre public (teachers don’t help) examinations in the Sports Hall this week, as we start their preparations for the experience of Public Examinations in just under a year’s time.

Teachers have also awarded 1901 Excellent Effort points this week.

Enrichment Activities and Educational Visits over this past week have been numerous: we have been particularly proud of those students, who have volunteered to water the plants and flowers in Hythe to support Hythe in Bloom, as well as our choir, who performed at the Leas Cliff Hall with primary school students this week. Brockhill students have also been active in their support of primary school students with their reading and of Saltwood Church by tidying the gardens. Elsewhere, our sportswomen and sportsmen took part in the District Athletics Festival at Julie Rose stadium and returned with a number of medals. Scarlett in Year 9 has qualified for 1500m National Championship, and Guy in Year 10 has qualified for the 3000m County Championship. Our Sixth Form Dancers have performed in St Augustine’s Primary School this morning, and our Year 10 Geography students have visited Dungeness for their field work over a number of days this week.

This evening I am looking forward to our Music concert, which follows on from a wonderful Performing Arts evening last Friday.

Sixth Form Induction for current Year 11 students will take place from Monday, June 23rd – Wednesday, June 25th.

We are looking forward to welcoming parents to Sports’ Day next Thursday, June 26th from 1.30pm. You will be able to sign in at the various entrances to the site. Students should remember to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated, and we recommend they apply sun-cream in the morning and bring some with them to school, along with a hat, as there is little shade on the school field. Students will need cash to purchase from the BBQ at lunchtime and for the ice cream van. The Terrace Restaurant and Saga Canteen will both be open as normal at morning break time.

On Sports’ Day, students may wear either their full school uniform or their Brockhill PE kit to school. However, we will not tolerate any non-uniform or non Brockhill PE kit items (e.g. beachwear, non Brockhill PE shorts etc.).

Please do ensure your daughter or son reads for 20 minutes a day. Reading is just so helpful to student development in all their subjects. Digital Library

Thank you for all your support this week and have a lovely weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Principal
