Letter to Parents 16th June

June 16th 2023

Dear Parents / Guardians

Students have worked very well this week and enjoyed the warmer weather. Teachers have awarded 1474 Excellent Effort points this week!

We are aiming to keep students fully engaged around their classroom learning right up until the end of the summer term, and also to undertake as many enrichment activities as possible.

This week, Years 7 & 8 students have visited the Natural History Museum in London, and others in Year 8 travelled to Greenwich University for a science competition with other schools – Brockhill won in 2 categories: Diagnostics and Building a Motorised Electric Car.

Once again, our Sport Leaders have organised a variety of activities for primary school students and our Year 7 girls took part and did very well in a Rounders Tournament at Highworth in Ashford.

We are already planning school year 2023 – 24 and are delighted to have appointed a school nurse, Ms Amanda Copley for September. Ms Copley will write to you before the end of this term to introduce herself and outline the provision we will be putting in place at Brockhill.

We look forward to welcoming parents to Sports’ Day on the afternoon of Thursday, June 29th and will send more information before then.

Public Examinations are nearing their end and our examination focus is shifting to all Year Groups, who will sit Walking Talking Mock (teachers help) and then Pre-public (teachers do not help) Examinations this term to begin or continue their preparation for Public Examinations.

The activities will of course be age appropriate and designed by teachers to increase student confidence.

We regularly remind students how to stay safe online: this information sheet is brief and useful

We have been asked to share Kent Police and Crime Commissioner News

We would like to remind parents and students that mobile phones must be turned off and in the bottoms of bags during Tutor time and lessons.

Students must not use mobile phones before break or lunch when use will be permitted. This means that mobile phones should remain in students’ bags when moving between lessons. Students must not wear or carry headphones or ear pods in school at any time.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Principal
