Letter to parents of year 11, 12 & 13 GCSE, AS and A level Arrangements 2021

GCSE, AS and A level

Arrangements 2021

 April 26th 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians and Students

Today, we are providing you with information about GCSE, AS and A level arrangements for this summer.

As you will be aware from the media schools are required to submit their Centre Assessed Grades (otherwise referred to as Teacher Assessed Grades or TAGs) by June 18th. These Grades will be based on a range of evidence drawn from individual students’ assessed work, which has been marked, standardised and moderated by more than 1 teacher.

Teachers have been working hard with students since the beginning of the school year to build up a portfolio of assessed work just in case examinations should be cancelled. It is vitally important students use these final weeks to ensure they produce work of their best personal standard to enable teachers to evidence the Grades we submit to the Examination Boards.

We have previously stated we will do all we properly can to ensure the best outcomes for our students, but we cannot stress enough that these Grades must be evidence based and can in no way be based on our view of the potential of a student had they sat examinations in more normal circumstances. Henceforth, teachers will not be able to share Grades with students, though they will be able to offer advice on how to improve work.

Please support us to do the very Best for and with your daughter or son by ensuring their 100% attendance to school and that they submit assignments and homework carried out to their personal best standard as well as preparing properly for assessments they carry out in school.

We will be providing a range of information in the coming days but please do take a moment to look through the Guidance below.
