Letter to parents 26th February

 February 26th 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians

Thank you so much for your support of Home School this week.

In anticipation of the next part of this school year’s journey, please can you take a moment to check your child has the correct school equipment and all necessary uniform items. Channel Uniforms are offering an online ordering facility at the moment and delivery appears to take about a week.

For those students, who have discovered an appetite for home baking we have received information about applications to join this year’s Junior Bakeoff competition.

http://www.applyforjuniorbakeoff.co.uk/ It would be wonderful for a Brockhill student to enter this part of our national landscape!

We are asking teachers to enter Assessment Grades for students, based on their learning since November. We will issue these Grades to parents at the end of the week beginning March 8th. This will enable students, parents and teachers to take stock, as we move on with the rest of the school year.

Arrangements for Centre Assessed Grades in respect of A levels and GCSEs will be based on moderated teacher judgements informed by samples of assessed work, which we will be undertaking between now and June, as well as assessment tasks already undertaken. As already stated, we will do all we properly and legally can to support the best outcomes for our students. As we return, all students will need to play their part in supporting these processes by committing to 100% attendance and completion of their best standard class and homework.

Next week, we will be taking every opportunity to celebrate with our students the amazing learning they have undertaken and the wonderful skills they have acquired over these 2 months. We will also be continuing with welfare calls to ensure our transition back to on site learning is as seamless as possible for every one of our students.

Daily Tutor Time activities are posted in the Google Classroom:

Monday: Literacy
Tuesday: Digital Library

Wednesday:Numeracy

Thursday: PSHE
Friday: Quiz

Students should access these materials and submit their work to their Daily Tutor at the end of each day.

We want all our students to remain safe by following the National Lockdown Guidance

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home as well as to remember social distancing, hand washing and face coverings, so as to play their part in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Yours Sincerely,

Sonette Schwartz
