Letter to parents 8th February

February 8th 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians

Thank you for your support of Home School today. If you did not receive your weekly Guardian Summary last Friday afternoon in respect of your daughter or son’s learning for the week, please let us know.

Tomorrow Tuesday, please be aware that all our staff will again be working remotely on account of site closure related to boiler replacement, the poor weather forecast and conditions underfoot. We expect and hope all our systems will operate normally.

The DFE have requested all schools post information about how they deliver Remote Learning to their students. Our Remote education provision: information for parents document appears in the curriculum section of our website, together with the Schemes of Work and Catch-Up Plans for each subject.

The pandemic has meant that young people are both learning and socialising online: parents are juggling new technology alongside working and navigating the risks their children face. Please see the following straightforward guide to protecting children from online hate, extremism, and fake news.

Parents’ Guide: A straightforward guide to protecting your children from online hate, extremism, and fake news

The Guide contains a host of information and we commend it to you. Through this week, we will signpost you to a range of the information within the Guide.

If you have not already booked for our Years 7 & 8 Parents’ Day on Monday, February 22nd, please do so. We would love to see you. Bookings will remain open until

Tuesday, February 9th at 3pm.

School will be closed completely during half-term from Friday, February 12th until Monday, February 22nd. On Monday, February 22nd assignments will be set in Google Classroom for all students for each of their lessons and the assignments should be submitted to the subject teachers at the end of the school day.

This week, teachers are having students complete some tasks under test conditions, as it is important we continue to develop this skill with students in all Year Groups.

The Daily Tutor Time activity tomorrow is:

Digital Library

Students should let their Daily Tutor for Tuesday know what and how much they have read at the end of tomorrow.

We want all our students to remain safe by following the National Lockdown Guidance

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home

as well as to remember social distancing, hand washing and face coverings, so as to play their part in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Yours Sincerely,

Sonette Schwartz

Principal

Senior Vice Principal
