Letter to Sixth Form Parents and Students

23/10/2020

Dear Parents and Sixth Form students

We hope all students have enjoyed the challenges of this half-term and have settled in to their Advanced courses.

Staff have been working hard to provide Years 12 & 13 with all the support we possibly can to ensure they progress quickly in their chosen subjects.

We have increased teaching time in each subject to 6 lessons per week and in Year 12 reduced the number of subjects students are required to study from the outset, in order to give students the time and space to re-establish themselves in school.

Where students have private study periods they must report to Ms Castle in the Saga Centre and use this time to study. They must not leave the school site.

Students are now receiving 5 hours plus Homework in each subject and these private study periods will be vital in helping students establish and maintain good study habits, which will ensure they achieve to their full potential at the end of Year 13.

We now deliver all our Literacy, Numeracy, PSHE and Careers’ education through the Daily Tutor period from 8.30am and attendance to all of these sessions is vital to both Years 12 and 13.

We wish all students and their families well for the half-term holiday.

Kind Regards

Sonette Schwartz

Principal
