Letter to Parents 13th March 2026

March 13th 2026

Dear Parents and students

Thank you for all your support of the students and us over this past week.

Once again, students have worked very hard and had earned 4556 Excellent Effort Points by midday today. Behind these achievements sits a huge amount of parental support day in and day out!

This week has been busy In and out of school. Years 7, 8 & 11 Basketballers have played 3 fixtures this week, winning 2 and losing 1 narrowly. I am always proud of the commitment of our sportswomen and men. Elsewhere, 40 Year 8 students enjoyed the London Symphony Orchestra Discovery & Creative Day at the Barbican, and 15 Years 12 & 13 Media students visited Maidstone Studios at the invitation of the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Geoff Miles OBE, a former student of Brockhill.

I am extremely grateful to all my colleagues, who organise and accompany school trips. They provide students with a ‘window on the world’ and are so valuable.

After a highly successful school Ski Trip, Mr Simpson has already set about organising next year’s trip. There are only 70 places available, and we are already running a waiting list. Thank you for your patience. I appreciate this may be disappointing for some but before writing to Mr Simpson to express any frustration about this, please pause to reflect that for the benefit, enjoyment and development of the students - and completely voluntarily – Mr Simpson and colleagues organise and accompany the trip over a full week and the weekends either side during term time. With full teaching weeks before and after the trip this means staff work for 18 out of 19 days. I am in their absolute awe!

We have also sent Homework reminder texts this week for a range of subjects in Years 7 – 11 and Years 12 & 13. Please do check in which subjects your daughter or son is due to submit homework assignments. In Examination Year Groups, students who do not submit homework assignments will simply perform less well in Public Examinations. Your support is vital here.

As we work towards Public Examinations for Years 11 and 13, we are providing students with information and techniques to inform their revision and its planning over the Easter Holiday. If you are worried that your daughter or son is not sure what to do, how to do it or indeed that they are just worried, please let us know. We will try our very best to help and guide!

We are intensifying our Walking Talking Mock (teachers help) and Pre-Public (teachers don’t help) GCSE and A level examination practice sessions in subject classes.

We are also working with students around Examination stress and anxiety, but if you are concerned about your child, please do let us know. We are here to help!

Please see this week’s

Our Academy Tutor Groups are starting to plan their Comic Relief activities for Friday, March 20th.

Comic Relief Assembly

We explain to students, how money raised is used to benefit others. I am always delighted by students’ engagement and commitment to others.

Please ensure your child reads for 20 minutes daily and have them choose and read a second book this term from Digital Library – Spring Term 2025 - 26

Have a restful weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Principal
