Letter to Parents 21st November 2025
21st November 2025
Dear Parents and Students
Thank you for all your support this week.
As of 12:30pm, we had sent 3194 Excellent Effort points to parents in recognition of their daughter or son’s hard work. We wish to recognize every student, so please encourage your daughter or son to submit their personal best class- and homework assignments.
Over the last 2 weeks our Public Examination Year Groups have also been sitting Walking Talking (teachers help) followed by Pre-public (teachers don’t help) GCSE and A level Examinations. Well done, to all those students for the way they conducted themselves throughout these important preparatory examinations.
Beyond the classroom our Year 9 Animal Care students have enjoyed a visit to Wildwood Trust on Wednesday. We have also supported Hythe Town Council this week with planting saplings on South Road Recreation ground with our volunteer Horticulture students, led by Ms Andrews: we are so proud of our students’ commitment to their community. We continue to be proud of our sporting students; the Year 8 football team have participated in a game with the John Wallis Academy.
We will be holding a carol service during the school day on Wednesday, December 10th at our beautiful local Saltwood Church. All students are invited to attend. Please see the information letter with full information and the crucial consent form, which needs to be submitted online by November 30th, so your daughter or son can attend. By issuing Independent Learning Folders with a paper booklet for Homework in all subjects each half-term we have made it far easier for parents to oversee their children’s Homework assignments and understand how Homework relates to learning students undertake in school. Our aim is also to give students greater ownership and responsibility for their Homework and for this to align more fully with what they learn in class. By way of reminder please see our Independent Learning Folder Reminders
We encourage all our students in Years 7 – 13 to read for pleasure for 20 minutes a day. Students who read daily develop their understanding and achieve so much more highly across their school subjects. Please choose a book with your daughter or son. Digital Library – Autumn Term – 2nd half
