Letter to Parents 7th July

July 7th 2023

Dear Parents / Guardians

Thank you for your support over these past 2 weeks.

We have held Induction Days for our new September Year 6 and Year 12 students this week and will be welcoming the parents of current Year 5 students for Open Evening next week.

As per our published calendar, next Friday, July 14th is a Teacher Training Day and school will be closed to all students. The following Friday, July 21st – the final day of term – will see us ending the school year with our Brockhill Tag Trek. We will provide you with more information next week, but just to note for the moment that school on that day will finish at midday with school transport departing then. Term Dates

Today, we are enclosing our Digital Library for the summer. It contains a range of exciting and enjoyable books to read for each year Group from Years 7 – 13. We want to encourage all our students to read for pleasure over the summer. Please ensure they choose a book and read for at least 20 minutes every day. Students who read daily understand and achieve so much more highly across their school subjects. Digital Library Summer 2023

Next week, we will be talking to students about the Work Packs we are providing in each subject for students to complete over the summer holiday. These will be set out in a weekly format, so students can easily see what tasks they need to complete in a given week. Maintaining good and regular study habits over the summer holiday will support them to do well in September, and the tasks we set will still leave plenty of time for leisure and valuable family time! We will of course be recognizing students’ efforts as we start back out in September.

Teachers have also awarded 696 Excellent Effort points this week.

As students prepare to leave us for the summer holidays we will be providing them and you with a range of information designed to support parents in keeping their children safe over the upcoming summer holiday weeks.

Today’s information is directly from the Department of Education:

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles Joseph
