Letter to Parents 9th July

July 9th 2021

Dear Parents

Thank you for your support of your daughters and sons and of course of us.

Next week, Friday July 16th is the last day of term. We will run a normal school day and finish at 3pm.

Today, we are providing you with further information designed to support parents in keeping their children safe over the summer holiday. The digital world we inhabit provides a wealth of information and knowledge as well sadly as disinformation and potential danger to young people. Today’s leaflet explains these and offers strategies to parents to support with Digital Parenting.

As you are aware, we have had several positive cases of COVID-19 amongst our students this week, resulting in our sending a number of young people home to self-isolate. Most of these have been social close contacts from break, lunch or the journey to school, rather than classroom close contacts. Please remind your daughter or son to restrict their social contact to students in their teaching group, as far as is possible and to socially distance at 2 arm lengths whenever they can.

We are enclosing again our Digital Library for the summer. It contains a range of exciting and enjoyable books to read for each year Group from Years 7 – 13. We want to encourage all our students to read for pleasure over the summer. Please ensure your child chooses a book and read each day for at least 20 minutes.

Digital Library Summer Holiday

Free School Meal vouchers will be issued to parents in the usual way by WONDE on the Wednesday of each week of the holiday. Please see Parent and Guardian Ordering.

This week we are talking to students about the Work Packs we are providing in each subject for students to complete over the summer holiday. We will recognize and celebrate students’ completion of these assignments when we return in September.

It is also our intention to continue Lateral Flow Testing of students once weekly as per our regular schedule, at least until the end of the autumn term.

Yours Sincerely,

Sonette Schwartz
