Sport Relief
By Tom (Year 9)
Sport Relief is a fun way to raise money and it transforms the lives of lots of people.
All of the money raised goes to Comic Relief, and is then passed on to people in our country who are homeless or less well off. The events are held at schools and lots of other places where the whole community can join in and have fun! Sport Relief started in 2002. Last year Sport Relief was on Friday 9 February; this year it runs from 19 –
21 March 2010.
We asked a single parent why she donates money to Sport Relief. She replied: “You can give Sport Relief as little as a couple of pounds but it can make such a difference”.
We asked Miss Dear ( PE Teacher at Brockhill Park Performing Arts College) what we are doing for Sport Relief this year. She said: “I am trying to get the whole school to take part in the Sport Relief Mile.”
Let’s hope that you all join in!
