PARENTS PANIC OVER SCHOOL PLACES

This week thousands of 10-11 year olds got there results of there secondary school place.
But a computer fault let a few parents find out earlier than expected “Pupils were supposed to find out on Monday” says national offer day but a few parents managed to access the Kent county council website notifying them of there results a day earlier.
But 100 students who passed the September 11 plus will not be receiving a place at the Grammar school, mainly down to the fact that 80 per cent of children managed to get a place at their chosen schools.
Just over 80(12,725) per cent of the children will be going to the school they want in September compared to last years 78.5 per cent last year, the other 11% per cent (1,753) will be going to there second choice. Just fewer than 4 per cent (620) did not receive a place in any of the four schools they wanted and were put in to a school chosen by the council.
