McDonalds GCSE

By Jake.

Teenagers will now be able to earn the equivalent of a B at GCSE level just by completing a two week work experience at McDonald's fast-food chain.

To obtain the qualification they will need to complete a crash course in preparing burgers, communicating with colleagues and serving customers.

McDonald's is the first fast-food chain to give a formal work experience credit. David Fairhurst, McDonalds' Chief People Officer said: "Whether people join McDonald's for two weeks work experience or a full time job, the aim is to help them build their confidence, gain transferable qualifications and fulfill their potential".

However, Professor Alan Smithers said:" This is really devaluing the qualification currency".
