Letter to Parents of Years 11 & 13 students

September 17th 2021

Dear Parents and Students/ Guardians

Thank you parents for your ongoing support of your daughter or son and us.  And students, thank you all for your hard work since we started back. We are advised that Public Examinations will take place in summer 2022 and wish to start early with after school provision for Year 11 students in English, Mathematics and Science and for Year 13 in their A level subjects. Please encourage your daughter or son to attend as many of these sessions as possible. The focus of the sessions is vital GCSE and A level preparation. On account of our much enhanced cleaning regime after school this provision will be delivered via Webex through the Google Classroom. Year 11, please note the opportunity to attend 2 sessions in each subject: the content of the 2 sessions will be different. Invitations will be sent to student email accounts on Monday after school.

School uniform or office wear will not be obligatory for the sessions, but students should be dressed appropriately and our normal ground rules will apply during the sessions. Students must be seated at a desk or table, activate their camera and show their full name, as these are intended as live face-to-face sessions. We will not be recording these sessions and students must not either. The sessions will start and end promptly at the times shown and the classroom will be locked on the dot at the start time to avoid the disruption of late arrivals.

We are encouraging students to work hard and early as the academic year starts up and not ‘leave it until the last minute.’  Finally, we would like to draw students’ attention to Career Map, which contains a host of useful and thought provoking information, to guide students as they consider their future.

Yours Sincerely,
