Letter to parents 15th May

Dear Parents

Thank you for all your support with Home School this week.

We hope you have been able to activate the Google Classroom Guardian feature. You should receive your weekly summary of work set today.

We are forwarding you Enrichment during Lockdown, which provides links to free virtual attendance to a range of Musicals, theatre productions and museum exhibitions.

Please ensure you download and save the Link as there are hours and hours of activities / events here to occupy students and adults.

We hope students have chosen a book from our ‘Digital Library,’ if they are not currently reading a book. Please do encourage them to do so as reading is so vital. Please click here for the Digital Library Links

Monday’s Tutor Activity is Literacy. Please carry out the activities as a family if you get the opportunity!

In respect to any possible changes to Gov.uk Guidance relating to schools for June – July we will adhere to Guidance but not anticipate it. Guidance is published nationally to us all at the same time – we do not have advance sight of this.

Before half-term, we will be asking Tutors to nominate their Tutees for Special Commendations, which specifically recognize a student’s commitment to completion of the Literacy, Numeracy, PSHE and Quiz activities. We really do wish to recognize as many of our students’ achievements as possible.

Finally, we have received communication from Network Rail that they are facing hugely increased levels of Trespass on the railways locally. They have provided links to Rail Safety Talks, which we in turn are providing to parents for use with their children as they judge best. These are hard hitting and when shown in school this would be done with caution by teachers. We will of course not be making these links available directly to students in Google Classroom.

Please stay safe.

Yours sincerely
